Job Description

Restaurant & Event Manager (REM)/ or Assistant REM will be responsible for overseeing the efficient running and profitability of all food outlets as well as managing staff. You'll need to be able to lead as well as work as part of a team.

This role sits within the Food & Beverage Department at Sky City Hotel, under which various outlets are run; Memories of Dhaka Restaurant, Charcoal BBQ, Cafe 47, Out Catering and Banqueting. The REM shall coordinate running of various operations using flawless professionalism, whilst providing a 5 star service standard at this international hotel. The individual will play an important role in growth strategy and will be responsible for all F&B planning with a view to maximise footfall and sale opportunities. The REM shall strictly follow and implement all SOPs and processes set by the Management to convert the restaurant into a profit centre.

Alongside running the restaurants and café, the candidate will be responsible for planning banqueting & corporate events from start to finish according to customer requirements. Come up with suggestions to enhance the event's success. Prepare budgets and ensure adherence to plan. Help source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers. Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc). Ensure the event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur. Post event, analyse success, areas of improvement and prepare reports

The REM will be closely working with other departments of the hotel, such as Sales & Marketing, Corporate and Finance team. The candidate will act as key control function for all F&B stock and purchases and will be reporting into the General Manager. They will regularly participate at the Management Team Meetings. He or she shall be focussed on adding value and developing the brands.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Possess strong Leadership, Motivational, Communication, Team Building and Training skills

  • Overseeing operation of entire F&B Department including staff matters

  • EPOS & Inventory Management System

  • Ensuring cleanliness of all F&B outlets - regular intraday monitoring. Ensuring all SOP are followed.

  • Making all restaurant guests feel welcome. Making staying hotel guest feel valued  

  • Monitoring guest dining / eating / spending habits

  • Monitoring trends in the local market and analysing offerings by other local and comparable service provider to ensure business remains competitive 

  • Monitor costs and help identify operational cost efficiencies 

  • Contribute to ideas and suggestions to management to improve operations / menu planning & costing

  • Audit of stock and inventory

  • Overseeing restaurant purchases and ensuring the restaurant is achieving projected goals in sales profitability revenues.

  • Plan, manage and execute large banqueting events



  • Customer service & client relationship management, 

  • Maintain Health & Safety policy and regulations

  • Large event management experience - wedding & corporate functions

  • Planning & drafting documentation

  • Work experience at least 8 to 10 years

  • Experience in promoting and marketing the business preferable

  • Hotel Management graduation/diploma from reputable institute

Skills, and Abilities

  • Confident in using email, word processing, spreadsheet

  • Previous use of EPOS & Inventory Management System preferable

  • Fluency in English is mandatory
